The Atlantic Cod (Gadus morhua) is a member of the family Gadidae and has the following characteristics: classic and streamlined shape, three dorsal fins and two anal fins, and a single chin barbel and a very distinct lateral line, the color is generally grey, brown to green or reddish (depending upon the habitat) with spots on the lateral and dorsal surface.
